Deliver a Dance sent unique and heart-warming performances to doorsteps in communities across Wales in a free delivery service during Christmas 2020.
Seven short, live dances were created across Wales by local performers. They were made available as a memorable gift-giving experience and were delivered directly to people's friends, family and colleagues. Deliver a Dance connected people across Wales bringing joyful experiences in socially distanced times.
Deliver a Dance – The Christmas Party shared the doorstep performances more widely as part of an interactive hour of festive fun, created and performed on zoom.
Presented by Eddie Ladd and Gwyn Emberton with support of Deborah Light as the Polar Bear, the films of each performance featured alongside bespoke Christmas party games and dances to beloved Welsh and English Christmas songs.
The Party was supported by live BSL interpretation and audio description, by our partners Taking Flight Theatre Company.
History
This project was developed for Christmas 2020 supported by the Arts Council of Wales Stabilisation Grant. The concept of gift giving was central to the project; the gift of live performance bringing joy to communities around Wales, and the gift of offering work, and creative opportunities to freelance artists during a very difficult year for our industry.
