ABOUT US
Light, Ladd, Emberton is not a firm of solicitors, but three dance artists and a producer.
In 2014 Deborah, Eddie and Gwyn worked together for the first time to make a show, CAITLIN, and somehow we were still friends at the end. Laura joined us as a producer in 2015. Since then, we have been collaborating on a project basis. We bring in other artists and creatives to make, show and tour works that we couldn’t create by ourselves. Some of our collaborators have worked with us over several years and some are new to us.
Our bilingual dance productions move people, physically and emotionally. They are performed with and for audiences in castles, village halls, theatres, urban spaces, and on beaches, across Wales and beyond. We find untold and little-known stories from the history and cultural identity of Wales to connect the past with the present, link the local with the global, and combine the personal with the political.
Our projects have included CAITLIN; Croesi Traeth/Crossing A Beach; Disgo Distaw Owain Glyndŵr Silent Disco and Disgo Zoom Disco gdg/feat. Owain Glyndŵr; Danfona Ddawns/ Deliver A Dance. Our current research project is about the climate crisis.
We love performing with and for audiences across Wales. We are also delighted to have performed as part of the British Council Edinburgh Showcase, Surf The Wave (the UK dance showcase), A Nation's Theatre at Battersea Arts Centre, Wales in Kolkata in India, and BBC’s Dance Passion. Dreams came true when we were invited to perform in Dance Umbrella 2020 but Covid had other ideas…
WHO WE WORK WITH
We are always interested in working with new people and actively search for partners, performers and other creatives.
Please get in touch if you are: a sound artist/composer, film maker, performer, designer, photographer, production crew, researcher, access consultant or musician!
For credits on each show, please see each production page.
We are committed to ensuring our work is accessible for audiences. Taking Flight Theatre Company, for example, are one of our key partners in advising how we create integrated, accessible, live and online experiences for audiences, including deaf/hard of Hearing and the visually impaired. This they did most recently on Owain Glyndŵr and Deliver a Dance/ Danfona Ddawns.
